What is REVALOR?

The European agri-food industry generates over 88 million tonnes of organic side streams annually. REVALOR develops science-based biorefinery processes to convert these underutilised residues — olive pomace, tomato pomace, citrus peel and cereal bran — into premium bio-based proteins, polyphenols and dietary fibres for food, cosmetics and nutraceutical applications.

Coordinated by the Universidad de Ejemplo de Canarias and funded by Horizon Europe, the project brings together nine partners across six EU countries, combining fundamental research, pilot-scale validation, sustainability assessment and regulatory expertise to accelerate the transition to a circular bioeconomy.
